BENTSPOKE TAKES GOLDS AT INTERNATIONAL BEER AWARDS
Last night in Victoria Pavilion at the Melbourne showgrounds the AIBA awards, or The Australian International Beer Awards, one of the largest annual beer competitions in the world took place. The competition has more than 2,800 entries from around the world, from 400 brewers and across 26 countries. The awards inspire and celebrate excellence in brewing and are open to breweries of all sizes, from boutique small volume to large-scale commercial brewers.
These awards are blind tasted by qualified judges from industry peers and focus on finding and awarding quality beers that achieve benchmarks for their categories. Of the major trophies, BentSpoke found itself in top spots in 3 categories; Crankshaft and Sprocket won gold for Best Traditional IPA, Barley Griffin won gold for Best Australian Style Pale Ale, and Red Nut took gold for Best Amber/Dark Ale. BentSpoke also took out several bronzes and silvers across draught and packaged beers.
Richard Watkins, Co-Founder and Head Brewer said, “As a brew team we are so proud of the beers we brew and it’s great to see them stand strong on a world stage. As an IPA focused brewery, it reinforces our passion in brewing high quality hop forward beers for everyone to enjoy”.
